This is Human Rights Watch’s webpage about Child Soldiers. The site informs the public that an estimated 300,000 children are currently serving as child soldiers in ongoing armed conflict. These children participate in all aspects of contemporary warfare. They fight on the front lines of combat, serve as human mine detectors, participate in suicide missions, carry supplies and act as spies, messengers or lookouts. The site also contains links to various articles, statistics, and information regarding international standards relating to child soldiers.

Human Rights Watch is dedicated to protecting the human rights of people around the world. We stand with victims and activists to prevent discrimination, to uphold political freedom, to protect people from inhumane conduct in wartime, and to bring offenders to justice. It investigates and exposes human rights violations and hold abusers accountable. It challenges governments and those who hold power to end abusive practices and respect international human rights law. It enlists the public and the international community to support the cause of human rights for all.
