This is the homepage of the Edugreen website, designed to provide environmental education for young people. Written in easy English, it provides information on biodiversity, forestry, water and pollution. Since the website is created in India, there are case studies of biodiverse regions in India, such as the Sundarbans and the Himalayas, plus environmental issues within India including the Chipko Movement against the destruction of forests. There are also links to projects designed to raise awareness in schools of conservation, water and air quality.

TERI was formally established in 1974 with the purpose of tackling and dealing with the immense and acute problems that mankind is likely to be faced with in the years ahead on account of the gradual depletion of the earth’s finite energy resources which are largely non-renewable and on account of the exiting methods of their use which are polluting.
