This is the Burma Solidarity Network (BSN) homepage. The website presents BSN’s goals, background, management team, phases of development, budget, and information on how to help the organization. The founders envision a network that, through its website, promotes an active dialogue, and a site which not only can promote the cause of those struggling for democracy and reach out to new individuals, but which can bring together resources in an accessible format to promote the knowledge and capacity of those working on the ground. The founders want to give a greater voice to those who are often overlooked by the mainstream campaigns that are carried out in the West.

The Burma Solidarity Network is currently (as of April 2006) in its initial phase of development. The organization’s founders hope that the Burma Solidarity Network will become a dynamic online community serving individual activists and civil society organizations engaged in the struggle for democracy in Burma. The founders also hope that it will bring together people and resources to increase the knowledge and capacity of its members, and will assist members in utilizing the internet to meet their own goals.
