The Karen Human Rights Group is a small and independent group documenting the human rights situation of ordinary people in rural Burma. The group was first formed in December 1992 to help villagers in rural Burma make known their stories to the outside world by translating their stories and testimonies into reports for worldwide distribution, accompanied by supporting photos and documentary evidence of the human rights situation. They are working directly with the people in the villages, the internally displaced and newly arrived refugees in neighboring countries in order to present a firsthand view of how the daily life of the people of Burma is like under the State Peace & Development Council (SPDC), military junta.
